Nine-year-old Adam wants to be a footballer. He says it the way nine-year-olds everywhere say it — with total certainty. Eighteen months ago, an airstrike took his right leg below the knee. Last month, at a rehabilitation clinic supported by Motaz Foundation, he took his first steps on a new prosthetic limb.

Gaza now has one of the highest rates of child amputation in the world. Behind that statistic are thousands of individual futures that depend on something very specific and very fundable: a prosthetic limb, properly fitted, with the physiotherapy to learn to use it.

More than a device

A prosthetic is not a one-time purchase. Children outgrow their limbs and need refitting every year. Sockets wear out. Muscles need months of guided rehabilitation. That is why our program funds the full journey: assessment, custom fabrication, fitting, physiotherapy, and follow-up care.

We work with specialist clinics and mobile rehabilitation teams, and when a case requires surgery or components unavailable locally, our safe passage program helps patients travel for treatment.

The first thing he did was stand up and hug me at eye level. We both cried.

The road ahead

Demand still far outstrips capacity, and every fitting funded moves one more person off a waiting list. Your donation covers real, concrete things: silicone liners, carbon-fiber components, physiotherapist hours. It is one of the most direct transformations a gift can buy.

Your donation today starts another family's story — a meal, a semester, a new limb, a safe journey.
